Every year, I look forward to watching my favorite television stars walk down the red carpet during the Emmy Awards and hope they win. I love watching what they wear, so I can stay on top of the trend. Last Sunday was the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards in downtown Los Angeles (near our headquarters), and Hollywood’s biggest TV stars definitely showed off some of the newest fashion trends for fall. Bright canary yellow, dazzling teal, rich purple, and daring tangerine were among the rainbow of bold and brilliant colors seen on the red carpet. Across the boards, shimmering diamonds were a fashion statement that was seen throughout this year’s Emmys. Sofia Vergara wore 175 carats of sparkling diamonds between her striking drop earrings, combination of three diamond bracelets, and a diamond and platinum ring that featured two large center stones. Claire Danes paired gold and diamond bangles with her sunny yellow gown to create a look that was unforgettable. Emily VanCamp’s bracelet was unforgettable – a perfectly designed bow lined with sparkling diamonds. One thing is for sure, diamond bangles and sparkly jewelry has a dazzling, timeless look that will never go out of style.
Chunky Jewelry
Chunky jewelry was popular during the Emmys last year and is still one of the top choices for both daytime and evening wear this season. By pairing chunky turquoise jewels with her yellow and cream dress, Leslie Mann really stood out. Allison Williams wore a striking black enamel floral cuff with her emerald green dress. Jessica Pair topped off her classic look, sporting an eye catching emerald and sapphire cocktail ring. Whether the look features a big beaded bracelet, a pendant necklace, or a glitzy ring, chunky jewelry is at the forefront of fashion.
Bold Colors
Color blocking is one of the hottest trends in fashion this year. Many of the stars are pairing bright, contrasting colors. Julia Louis-Dreyfus wore opal and diamond drop earrings – a distinct shade that was emphasized by her merlot colored gown. Leslie Mann’s turquoise and yellow color combination was another hit on the red carpet. This fall, bright colors are a fun way to take risks and show personality.
