This caduceus pendant attractively reflects the quality craftsmanship in 14K yellow gold. It has a polished finish that brightly shows off the components of this symbol: two snakes formed in a double helix around a rod and two winglets at the top.

The caduceus symbol has different meanings. One of them originates from Greek mythology. The quickly moving god and protector of trade, Hermes, is portrayed as holding a caduceus staff, so this insignia often coincides with commerce. This winged staff also relates to the medical profession particularly in the U.S. It acts as the emblem of the U.S. Army Medical Corp.

Very well made for the most part. Sleek and appears wide looking 8 mm ? 5/16", just a hair under 3/8". Feels thick enough too and you can feel the weight of this high polished chain. The slide in latch on the clasp is bent higher than needed and wish it didn't stick out as much. I'll have a local jeweler fix this minor error. Don't want it catching on things. Love it otherwise. Best price for this weight online with very fast shipment, thanks.

Last year I ordered a box chain from another vendor, and it would catch the small hairs on my neck--it was painful! I returned it. I tried this chain, which was on sale, and it is very comfortable. The 1 mm is a nice width and works with all my pendants. I sleep with the chain on, no problems. It is very shiny and the clasp is easy to operate. A great purchase especially at the sale price! Free shipping is also a plus.

Small (1/2" X 1/2") but beautiful. Size is meant as a charm, not a pendant. My wife loved it. Says it will always remind her of me (her husband). I would highly recommend .
