history
and incorporate some of the beliefs into their wedding. For starters, browse through the
list of
various Celtic engagement rings below:
Claddagh Ring - Claddagh Celtic engagement rings feature two hands holding a heart wearing a crown.
The hands represent friendship, the crown represents loyalty, and the heart, represents love.
Gimmel (bond Ring) - Gimmel Celtic engagement rings originate from the Middle Ages when solemn
betrothal by means of the Gimmel or Bond Ring often preceded matrimony. This Irish wedding ring
is comprised of three joined rings. If a couple were to be separated, the rings were broken
apart at the betrothal in the presence of a witness. The man and woman broke away the upper
and lower rings from the central one, which the witness retained. When the marriage contract
was fulfilled, the three portions of the wedding ring were again united and the ring used in
the ceremony.
Emeralds - Last but not least, emeralds are an excellent gemstone to include
in Celtic engagement rings. The green color is synonymous with
luck and success- two qualities that are no doubt extremely important
for a newly married couple.
