Diamond ratings are important when determining the diamond's value and worth.
When choosing a diamond, be aware of the four Cs: Carat, Cut, Clarity, and Color.
Carat- A diamond's weight is measured in carats, not size.
Cut- Diamond cut is the result of a craftsman's skill in transforming a rough diamond into a gem by
cutting facets of the diamond that allow light to enter. Light that enters the diamond, becomes
refracted and exits in a rainbow of colors. You can choose from round, pear, oval, marquise,
emerald, princess, heart, radiant, triangle, and asscher cuts.
Clarity- This refers to the number, position, and size of imperfections that naturally
occur in the diamonds.
Color- The color grading system for diamonds uses the letters of the
alphabet from D through Z with 'D' being the most colorless and therefore
the rarest and most valuable, and 'Z' having the least color and therefore
the least valuable.
